Role Performed: Town Planner

Topographic Survey

As the GIS Expert, I led a high-precision topographic survey of the Shadhu Franchise Para Pond, KCC, Ward no 31 using RTK GPS and Total Station, incorporating local knowledge to enhance spatial accuracy. The survey collected detailed elevation data across the pond basin and embankments, which were processed into a 0.5-meter resolution DEM and corresponding 0.5-meter contour lines using ArcGIS Pro and AutoCAD. I also prepared a detailed longitudinal section at 3-meter intervals to capture depth and slope variations, along with cross-sections to illustrate pond width, bank conditions, and side slopes. These topographic outputs provided essential inputs for hydrological assessment and ecological restoration planning.

ArcGIS Pro for Planning

Using ArcGIS Pro, I analyzed the 0.5m-resolution Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and contour layers to support hydrological and ecological planning for Shadhu Franchise Para Pond, KCC, Ward no 31. The elevation data enabled precise slope analysis, depth profiling, and surface flow interpretation. Contour intervals at 0.5m were used to delineate micro-topographic features critical for pond restoration and biodiversity modeling. These spatial insights informed the longitudinal section design and guided nature-based planning strategies for urban wetland resilience.
